Work History
Our principal Ben White is a chartered Engineering Geologist BSc MSc Geol. He worked for 7 years in the mining industry in exploration and in both open cut and underground mining in Australia and abroad. In 2003 Ben commenced work on the Northern Beaches for a local engineering firm. He took quickly to the job and before long was running the Geotechnical Division. In 2013 he founded White Geotechnical Group. He is a member of the AusIMM and the Australian Geomechanics Society.
The Facts and Figures
Ben has successfully completed over 3000 Geotechnical reports, offered remedial advice for hundreds of failed or failing retaining walls, footings and drainage issues. He has remediated over 30 landslides ranging in size from several tonnes to over 500 tones. He has visited over 5000 properties on Geotechnical related matters. The majority has been within the Sydney Basin, although he & the company carry out geotechnical work as far as Newcastle to the North and Kiama to the South.
Northern Beaches
Being based on the Northern Beaches, the majority of our geotechnical work is in the Northern Beaches under the jurisdiction of Northern Beaches Council. We are familiar with council process and our geotechnical reports and documentation are designed to satisfy council requirements. We can also assist with clearing up the often confusing process of lodging a development application (DA ) so you can start your project with a proficient understanding of what is required. We have a large data base of skilled local trades people and contractors so you can get several quotes from people who will be able to successfully complete your project.
